Emergency services attending scene of ‘two-vehicle’ crash on busy Laois road

Gardai and emergency services are at the scene of a crash in Laois this afternoon.

The incident occurred on the N80 Mountmellick to Portlaoise Road this afternoon.

This was a two vehicle collision but thankfully, it is believed that nobody has been seriously injured.

Gardai are asking motorists to avoid the area if possible.

While AA Roadwatch also provided an update on the incident.

They said: “Emergency services are dealing with a crash which is blocking the N80 on the Portlaoise side of Mountmellick.

“Gardaí are directing traffic and there are delays both ways on approach.

“Elsewhere on the N80, there are delays both ways at works outside Portlaoise on the Stradbally side near the M7 flyover.”
