A clinical performance from Camross saw them claim the 2020 Laois JHC ‘B’ title over Portlaoise on Sunday afternoon.
After racing into an eight point lead after just ten minutes played, the final outcome of this was never in much doubt, as Portlaoise just couldn’t live with a lively Camross side.
Cillian Tiernan, Niall Bennett and Dan Delaney lead the charge for the winners, who were full value for the victory.
Camross dominated from the early stages, helped in the opening minutes by the strong breeze at their backs.
They opened up a lead early on and went on to win by 16 points in the end.
This team have reached this final on a couple of occasions in recent years only to come up short.
Kyle defeated them in one of those with neighbours Mountrath getting the better of them in the 2019 edition.
So this win was very sweet and means that Camross will field sides in three of the top four grades of hurling in Laois.
Our photographer Paul Dargan was on the field in Portlaoise at the full time whistle.
