Emergency services are at the scene of a crash in Laois this afternoon.
According to AA Roadwatch, traffic is heavy on the N80 on the Portlaoise side of Mountmellick following an incident.
The accident occurred at the Derrycloney junction just outside Mountmellick.
This is a popular route, under the railway bridge, for people who are looking to avoid driving through the town of Mountmellick.
Emergency services are at the location at present – but it is unclear if there have been any injuries.
AA Roadwatch have provided the following update.
They say: “Traffic is heavy on the N80 on the Portaoise side of Mountmellick.
“There are reports of a collision near the Mountrath turn-off (R423).”
