The draws for the 2021 Laois club hurling championships have been made.
Typically, these would be held publicly in Laois Shopping Centre but due to Covid-19, they have been streamed instead.
Although two competitions from 2020 remain outstanding, only one of those effects tonight’s draw.
The Premier Intermediate final between Portlaoise and The Harps will obviously have a baring on who will play Senior and Premier Intermediate in 2021.
Both clubs have representation with the Laois senior hurlers so must wait until they exit the championship to play their final.
The same goes for the Senior final between Borris-Kilcotton and Clough-Ballacolla.
And a date for those games cannot be fixed until the picture regarding the Laois senior hurlers becomes clearer after this weekend.
The format for Senior and Premier Intermediate championships reverts to the 2019 schedule.
The first placed team in each group will go to the semi finals while second and third will go to the quarter final with the two bottom sides contesting a relegation playoff.
In Intermediate and Junior A, there will be now quarter finals with the top two teams progressing to semis.
Junior B will be three groups with one four-team group and two three-team groups.
First and second in the four team group will progress to semi finals with the top sides in each of the three-team groups. While Junior C will be straight knock-out.
