LIVE BLOG: Follow all the action as Laois face Louth in ladies All-Ireland quarter final

We’re live from Kinnegad as the Laois ladies take on Louth in the All-Ireland quarter final.

After a couple of miserable days, the weather forecast today is for drier and brighter conditions.

On paper, this is a game that Laois should win – but no game has ever been won on paper.

Laois are Division 3 champions while Louth triumphed in Division 4 this year.

And while that was a great success for the Wee County, there should be a gulf in standard here.

Managed by Monasterevin native Wayne Freeman, they got the better of Leitrim in the Division 4 final.

In the championship, they were beaten in Round 1 by Down but recovered to see off Offaly in their final group game to advance as runners up.

Kate Flood, Lauren Boyle and Laura Collins are among their most dangerous players and Laois will be hoping to keep them quiet.

The game throws in at 2pm and we’ll bring you all of the action as it happens below:

Stradbally native Alan Hartnett is a graduate of Knockbeg College who has worked in the local and national media since 2008. Alan has a BA in Economics, Politics and Law and an MA in Journalism from DCU. His happiest moment was when Jody Dillon scored THAT goal in the Laois senior football final in 2016.
