Music on the green – Laois town’s concert band set to perform this weekend

The Portarlington Concert Band are planning an outdoor performance this weekend.

Clanmalire Close in Portarlington will be the venue as senior members, those aged 9 and up, are set to perform from 3pm on Sunday.

Portarlington Concert Band was set up in Portarlington by Pat Donegan in 2017.

The purpose of band is to promote concert and swing music with the youth of the town and surrounding areas.

It currently has over 50 members and is always on the lookout for new members to join.

Secretary Martina Norman said: “Portarlington Concert Band are delighted to announce Music On the Green is back this weekend.

“The Senior Members of Portarlington Concert Band will be performing in Clanmalire Close in Portarlington on Sunday August 15 at 3pm weather permitting.

“Come along and be entertained for the afternoon with some great tunes.

“We look forward to seeing you all there.
