Cocoman and McDonald take top spots in Ballyroan-Abbey Christmas 5k

Ballyroan-Abbey 5k run

The Annual Ballyroan-Abbey GAA 5km race took place on St Stephen’s Day in ideal weather conditions with over 50 people taking part.

Naas AC’s Joe Cocoman took the men’s race in a time of 16.20 with local athlete Jack McMahon 2nd in 16.30 and Tom Dunne 3rd in 17.09.  

In the lady’s race. BallyroanAbbeyleix & District athlete Kate McDonald kept up her good form of late by winning the women’s race in 17.49.

Faye McEvoy was 2nd in 19.57 and Aine McDonald was 3rd in 23.49.

Master’s athletes were awarded also with wins in the ladies’ section for Pamela Bradley W40 and in the men’s Ballyroan athlete John Kirwan claiming the M40 and Ballyfin A.C Tommy Looney winning the M50 section.

Plenty of Juvenile prizes on offer with Sadhbh Moore and Rody McEvoy winning the Under 16 category while in the under 14 category there was 1st places for Saoirse Bonham and Jack McDonald

Well done to all that took part on what was a very enjoyable morning.
