The Laois hurlers begin their Leinster championship campaign this evening in Parnell Park when they take on Dublin.
It’s Laois’s first outing in what is a demanding Leinster round-robin championship of five games in six weeks.
After this evening’s game, Laois make the trip to Nowlan Park to play Kilkenny next Saturday before hosting Wexford in Portlaoise the following weekend.
They have a spare weekend then before finishing with home games against Galway and Westmeath.
Laois famously beat Dublin in the 2019 All Ireland Qualifiers but have since lost to Dublin in the 2020 Leinster championship and in the National League in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Laois come in as massive outsiders but this game probably represents their best chance of a win.
That is outside of the Westmeath game, a last-round fixture that is likely to also be a relegation decider.
The game this evening throws in at 6.30pm.
