LIVE BLOG: Follow all the action as the Laois minor hurlers face Kilkenny in Leinster semi final

The Laois minor hurlers will be hoping to reach a first Leinster final since 2013 when they face Kilkenny this afternoon.

The Cats will come to O’Moore Park at 12pm to take on Declan Qualter’s charges.

Qualter’s charges were knocked out by Kildare last year but comprehensively defeated them in Round 1 this time.

They then suffered defeat against Offaly in Round 2 which sent them to a preliminary qualifier against Westmeath.

That match took place two weeks ago and Laois had to come from eight points down to win.

There was high drama last week as Laois got the better of Wexford in the quarter final.

A fantastic display for 47 minutes left Laois seven points clear and they looked set to pull off victory.

But Wexford embarked on a massive comeback with two Cillian Byrne goals helping them to draw level.

And it looked like it would be another case of heartbreak for Laois when Wexford went ahead deep in injury time.

But with the final play of the game, a big high ball was sent into the Wexford area and Jer Quinlan latched onto it to win the game  and send the Laois supporters into delirium.

Kilkenny’s journey to this stage of the competition has been less dramatic but hasn’t been perfect either.

They were in Tier 1 alongside Dublin and Wexford – finishing with one win and one defeat.

Kilkenny began with a 2-17 to 2-12 win over Wexford and this would prove significant.

They then lost 3-14 to 2-16 against Dublin in Round 2 but finished in the top two places in the group on points difference.

Ahead of the game, Laois manager Qualter has named the same starting 15 as the one that began against Wexford.

Throw in is at 12pm and you’ll be able to follow all the action as it happens on our Live Blog:
