Emo Court all set to Shine as massive crowd expected for new one-day event

It’s a case of all roads lead to Emo Court this Saturday as the iconic Laois venue gets set to host the inaugural Shine event, a one-day trade-fair style event organised by Laois Chamber of Commerce and Emo GAA club.

A crowd of up 5,000 is expected to attend with more than 100 local businesses exhibiting and the centre piece being an Ireland’s Fittest Club competition where there’s €10,000 prize money up for grabs.

The Fittest Club event will have 32 teams competing throughout the day with the grand final taking place at 5pm.

The event is being supported by the OPW and Laois County Council with local business Finline Furnitre the main sponsor with event sponsors all Laois-based companies also – Powerpoint Engineering, JK Autos, Midland Legal Solicitors, Clement Herron Real Estate and Alpha Wireless.

With a number of food stalls and local producers on site, it promises to be a great family day out as well as a chance to enjoy the wonderful Emo Court setting.

The event is free to attend and there is free parking while Martley’s are also offering a free shuttle bus service from Portlaoise.

Originally scheduled to take place in 2020, this is the first year of Shine and all going to plan it will become an annual event.

With good weather forecast, it should be the place to be this Saturday.
