Erkina River Festival set to return after long Covid-19 absence

Woodenbridge Stage will host their first Erkina River Festival since the Covid-19 pandemic.

The festival promises to be an action packed event with a wide-range of activities taking place.

The festival will kick off at 1pm on Saturday June 25 at the Woodenbridge.

The events will get underway with a Family Cycle at 1pm while raft building, canoe polo, aqua slide, tight rope walking and tug of war commences at 2.30pm.

The Laois Hunt Show also gets underway at 2.30pm while the long puck competition will run from 3pm to 5pm.

Sheep dog trials get underway at 3.30pm while sheep shearing begins an hour later with field dog trial on at 5pm.

There will also be a chance to guess the weight of a Kerry Hill Ram.

In order to keep everything running smoothly Water Safety Ireland – Laois and The Nore Vision will also be present.

A Heritage walk will get underway at 6pm which will incorporate a novel river crossing and some historical artifacts rarely seen by many.

The evening will continue with a BBQ and refreshments the Woodenbridge Got Talent contest along with music and song with Johnie Keegan.
