JOB VACANCY: Enva seeking candidates for Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Driving and Environmental Technician Apprenticeship Programme

Enva are now accepting applications for our Transport Operations and Commercial Driving (Level 6) and Environmental Technician Apprenticeship Programme starting in October 2022.

This is a two-year programme where you work four days per week and attend college online one day per week leading to a Higher Certificate in Transport Operations & Commercial Driving (Level 6), C & CE Licence, Driver CPC qualifications and Environmental Technician qualifications.

What will you study?

Semester 1

  • Personal Effectiveness and ICT Skills
  • Introduction to Supply Chain Management
  • Principles of Professional Driving
  • Introduction to HGV Technology and CVRT

Semester 2

  • Customer Care
  • Warehousing and Distribution
  • Introduction to Finance

Semester 3

  • Road Freight operations and Route Planning
  • Customs and International Trade
  • Legal Studies for the Transport Industry
  • Health and Safety at Work (Work Related Vehicle Safety)

Semester 4

  • Introduction to Management and Organisation Behaviour
  • Enterprise and Market Development
  • Sustainable Transport Operations and Technologies

In addition to the above formal training in college, Enva will fully support and provide on the job training including below:

  • Manual Handling Training
  • Fire Safety Training
  • Emergency First Aid Training
  • SafePass
  • Forklift Licence
  • Chemical Awareness Training
  • Confined Space Training with full breathing apparatus
  • Working at Heights Training
  • ADR/Hazchem (Dangerous Goods) Training
  • Safe Jetting Training

Minimum entry requirements:

  • A grade H7/O6 or above in five Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) subjects
  • A minimum of grade O6 must be obtained in English
  • A minimum of grade O6 or a B2 or above in Foundation level must be obtained in Mathematics. Holders of a QQI Level 5 or Level 6 (or equivalent) in cognate areas (e.g. business, logistics and distribution, supply chain management, etc.) can apply for entry onto the programme.
  • Applicants must have a full (clean) ‘B’ Licence and be at least 18 years of age in year 1 of the programme (18 is the minimum age requirement to attain the full C and/or CE licence).
