In Pictures: Laois camogie club celebrate stellar season with presentation night

It has been quite a remarkable year for GAA in Clough-Ballacolla – both on a hurling and Camogie front.

Clough-Ballacolla senior hurlers claimed their three-in-a-row, while the intermediates and minors were also crowned champions.

However, last Sunday evening, November 27 was the camogie club’s evening to celebrate with a presentation which was held in the Community Hall in Ballacolla.

The special guests on the night were Gráinne Delaney, Laois Minor Camogie Award winner as well as Laois U-16 All Ireland camogie champions Kaylee O’Keefe and Caitlin Shore.

Also present on the night was Darren Maher – the Clough-Ballacolla full back who was crowned Laois Senior Player of the Year for 2022.

Chairman Ciaran Ryan spoke of the super year of Camogie that the club had for 2022.

He commended the U-12s, U-13s and Minors for reaching the final in their championship groups and the U-14s for getting to the semi final.

The club was extremely thankful and grateful to all those who contributed to the club’s running and success during the year.

Especially to the mentors, the camogie club committee, parents and to the Camogie players themselves for their enthusiasm, commitment and hard work shown all year.

A momentous and extra special presentation was awarded to Clough-Ballacolla U-13 camogie panel that won their county final this year.

This is an honourable and significant achievement that will go down in the camogie club’s history book.

Delicious treats were had on the night with plenty of smiles to be seen.

The club are also hosting a Christmas raffle and you can find details of that here.
