Kathleen is formerly of Portnahinch,Portarlington and died suddenly at The Regional Hospital Portlaois.Deeply regretted by her loving husband Joe,brothers Eamon and John,nieces,nephews,neighbours,relatives and friends.Rest in Peace.Reposing at her residence in Castlecoole.Rosary at her residence on Tuesday evening at 8oc.Removal from her residence on Wednesday morning at 11.30 to St.Brigid’s Church Ballinakill for Funeral Mass at 12oc which can be viewed on the link https://www.ballinakillknockparish.com/ Interment afterwards in St.Brigid’s Cemetery Ballinakill.

Nancy Fennelly (née Purcell)
14a Slatt, Wolfhill, Laois / Carlow

Nancy Fennelly, December 5th 2022 (unexpectedly) at home in the arms of her son Brendan. Beloved wife of the late Ned and much loved and adored mother of Thomas, Ann, Brendan, Caroline, Helena, Margaruite, James, William, Marie, Rosie, Bridget, Timmy, Kay, Majella and David. Sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters, brother Joe, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her home on Wednesday from 2pm concluding with prayers at 8.30pm. Funeral Mass at 2pm on Thursday (Dec. 8th) in St. Mary’s Church, Wolfhill. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Patrick (Paddy) Farrelly

Formerly of Stradbally, Laois. Peacefully, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Ellen, brothers Ben, Teddy and Dick, sister Agnes. Sadly, missed by his loving wife Teresa, son Robert, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Reposing at his home (A82Y277) on Tuesday, 6th December, from 4pm to 8pm, with removal on Wednesday morning to The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Kilbeg, for 11am Funeral Mass, followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan, at 2pm.

Luke Renehan
Ballylinan, Laois / Athy, Kildare

Luke Renehan, Carlow Road, Ballylinan, died peacefully on Sunday 4th, in the arms of his loving parents, and in the wonderful care of the staff in ICU, Temple Street Children’s Hospital. Luke is the cherished only son of David and Arlene, and adored brother of Faye. He is deeply regretted by his heartbroken parents, sister, grandparents Tom and Kathleen McEvoy, Paddy and Catherine Renehan, uncles Brian, Keith and Mike, aunts Sinéad, Bridget and Pamela, cousins Chloe, Jesse, Eoin, Katie, Lily, Lauren, Abbey and Ríona, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Removal by Thompson’s funeral directors on Wednesday, 7th December, to St. Anne’s Church, Ballylinan, for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in St. Anne’s Cemetery. Requiem Mass will be live streamed

The death has occurred of Pat Moore, Ashfield House, Calverstown, Kilcullen, Co. Kildare (eir code R56TN55) formerly of Morette, Emo, Co. Laois, 3rd December 2022.
Deeply mourned and sadly missed by his beloved wife Marie, his children Claire and Rory and their mother Kathleen, his daughter-in-law Linda and Claire’s fiancé Terrell, his adored grandchildren Jack, Gracie, Cain, Maisie and Finn.
Greatly missed by his brothers Frank, Matt, and Michael and by his sisters Goretti, Oonagh and Fidelis, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at his residence on Tuesday, the 6th of December, from 11.00am. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, the 7th of December, at 11.00am in St. Brigid’s Church, The Curragh Camp and burial afterwards in New Abbey Cemetery, Kilcullen. House private on Wednesday morning, please.

The death has occurred of Ann Rochford (née Whelan), Lower Forest, Mountmellick, Co. Laois. Ann died peacefully following a sudden illness, surrounded by her loving family, in the exceptional care of the staff at Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise.

Ann will be sadly missed by her loving husband Gerard, her children Mark, Marie, Ann-Claire (A.C.) and Geraldine, her siblings Denis (Clonsaughey), Mary Hennessy (Abbeyleix), Breda Joyce (Rathfarnham), John Joe (Kilcloon) and Margaret Scully (Stradbally), her 11 adored grandchildren Tadhg, Feena, Lucia, Seren, Ruth, Cahir, Luke, Peter, Honor, Raonaid and Ryan, her daughter-in-law Aileen (née Kiernan), her sons-in-law Carl Byrne, Gerard Reynolds and Liam Stack, her sisters-in-law Breda Whelan, Helen, Catherine, Mary and Bernardine Rochford, her brothers-in-law (James Hennessy deceased), Pat Joyce, Seán Scully, Ray and Feargal Rochford, her nieces, nephews, extended family, former teaching colleagues at Scoil Chríost Rí, Portlaoise, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Reposing in her home (R32TX65) on Monday from 2pm. Recital of The Rosary at 8pm. Funeral arriving St Joseph’s Church Mountmellick for Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11 am. Burial after in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Kavanagh Kathleen T. Hawthorn Drive Portlaoise and formerly Ballinmona House, Knocktopher, Co Kilkenny. Dec 3rd 2022.

Peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Carthage Nursing home Mucklagh, Tullamore. In her 97th year. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving sisters Josephine Kavanagh and Patricia Gorman.

Her sister in law Frances Kavanagh. Nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews. Relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Kathleen is predeceased by her sisters Maud, Teresa, Bernadette and brother Bernard. Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home Portlaoise on Monday evening from 6 pm with rosary at 7 pm. Requiem mass will take place on Tuesday in Carmelite Friary church in Knocktopher Co. Kilkenny at 12 noon, followed by interment in local cemetery. Please observe covid precautions.

Mary Ellen Cahill (née Griffin)
Kylevalley, Stradbally, Laois/Schull, Cork

Mary Ellen passed away suddenly at her residence. Predeceased by her husband Martin and grandson Denis.

Sorely missed by her son Jamie, daughters Julieka, Elizabeth, Martina and Joleene, sons-in-Law, Richie, Steve, Sean and Paddy. Daughter-in-law Alice and adored grandchildren Katie, James, Lily, Evie, John, Eleana and Glenda.

Sadly missed by her brothers, her childhood friend Margaret, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.

Funeral arrangements will be announced after the weekend.

Maureen Templey, Killimy, Emo, County Laois, died at St James’ Hospital, Dublin. Sadly missed by her loving daughters Anita and Pauline (Polly), brother Tony, sister Sheila, grandchildren Siobhan and Kathleen and great-grandson Owen, sister-in-law Anna, The family circle, friends and neighbours. Predeceased by Thomas who passed away on Sunday 20th November 2022.

The family would like to thank you for your help and understanding at this sad and difficult time.

Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest, Portarlington, on Tuesday evening from 7pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Wednesday morning at 10:20am (travelling via her residence) arriving to St Paul’s Church, Emo, for Requiem Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to The Victorian Chapel at Mount Jerome Crematorium for Committal Service at 1:45pm.

Sharkey, (Nee Nicholas), Teresa, formerly of Pound Street, Newport, Co. Tipperary, Cappanuke, Cappamore, Co. Limerick and Mountrath, Co. Laois. November 30th 2022 peacefully at St. Vincent’s Community Nursing Unit, Mountmellick, Co. Laois. Beloved wife of the late Peter and loving grandmother of the late Sean. Sadly missed by her loving daughter Caroline and son Stephen, son in law David, daughter in law Maria, grandchildren Aisling, Grace, Cormac and Daniel, brothers Jimmy and Pat, sisters Irene, Bridie, Bernadette and Angela, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Meehan’s Funeral Home Newport, Co. Tipperary on Monday, 5th December, from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by removal to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Newport.
