Josephine (Josie) Sweeney (nee Murphy), Rathmore, Ballybrophy, Co. Laois. 16th December 2022. Peacefully at home, in her 101st year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Patrick and grandchild Tiernan. Beloved mother of Marion Winifred, Margaret, Donal, Mary, Josephine and Ann-Marie. Sadly missed by her 13 grandchildren, brother, sister, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, extended family and friends.
Funeral Mass on Monday 19th at 12 noon in The Church of The Assumption, Killasmeestia, Co. Laois, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Peacefully, in the wonderful care of Craddock House Nursing Home, Naas, Co Kildare, surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her husband Donal, brother Dan, sisters Bab & Mary. Sadly missed by her daughter Nuala, sons Michael, Brian, Donal and Damien, sister Sheila, brother Paddy, brothers in law, sisters in law, daughters in law Margaret, Kathy, Claire & JoJo, son in law Mark, adored grandchildren Louis, Erin, Hannah, Conor, Niall, Aoife, Cillian, Arthur, Ruairi, Chloe, Darragh, Isabelle, Dylan, Charlie and Devin, nieces & nephews, relatives, neighbours & friends.
Reposing at her residence from 3pm on Sunday until 7pm. Removal to The Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix, on Monday for 11am Requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Breada Whelan, (née Quirke) of “Green Lawns”, Hollymount, Carlow, Co. Laois and formerly of Coolcullen, Co. Kilkenny, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on December 14th, 2022, at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.
Beloved wife of the late Martin, much loved mother of Michael, Hugh, Dorothy and Oliver, adored grandmother of Martin Óg and Katie, cherished mother-in-law of Marion and Nicola and treasured sister of the late George, James, Maria and Diana.
She will be sadly missed by her loving sons, daughter, grandchildren, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
