Killeshin man writes the history of his local church and community

Killeshin book

A book on the history of the Holy Cross Church in Killeshin and its community was recently published by well-known local author Pat Whelan.

The church is in Killeshin which is part of the parish of Graiguecullen/Killeshin and the launch of the book was the last in a series of events to celebrate the Bicentenary of the Church 1822-2022.

The launch was attended By Bishop Denis Nulty, parish priest Fr John Dunphy, Fr Sean Kelly (retired parish priest in Stradbally and formerly CC in Graiguecullen/Killeshin), Fr. Paul O’Boyle (parish priest of Clane/Rathcoffey and a native of Graiguecullen) and Fr Brian Maguire (parish priest of Tullow), who lived and went to school in Graiguecullen for a number of years.

Pat was also joined by his family, relations and many friends in what was a very sociable occasion, added to by refreshments served by the ladies committee.

The book can be purchased for €20 in the Parish Centre, Graiguecullen, Killeshin Stores and from Pat Whelan on 086 1657435.

The book was printed by Mochua Print and Design, Portlaoise and Pat was loud in his praise for the excellent Book they produced.
