Sadness in Laois community as ‘character who always had smile on his face’ passes away

Seamus Foyle RIP

There is sadness in the village of Timahoe this week following the passing of Seamus Foyle.

Mr Foyle died peacefully on Sunday surrounded by his loving family.

A farmer and a building contractor, Seamus was extremely well known for his hard work and his humour and wit.

A father of five to Danielle, Thomas, Katie, James and Mairéad, Seamus is also dearly missed by his beloved wife Breda.

News of Mr Foyle’s passing led to an outpouring of emotion on social media last night.

His club, Timahoe GAA, led the tributes on their Facebook page.

They said: “Timahoe GAA would like to offer their heartfelt condolences to the Foyle family, Cullenagh on the sad passing of Seamus this morning.

“Seamus was a well known person in the village of Timahoe and surrounding area.

“He was a great character in our community and always had a friendly smile on his face.

“May Seamus rest in peace.”

As well as his immediate family, Seamus will be deeply missed by his parents Jim and Cathleen as well as sisters Marguerite, Mary, Claire and Cathyrn.

Son in law to Tom and Maureen, Seamus is deeply regretted by his loving family, sister in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, relatives and a huge circle of friends.

Seamus’ funeral arrangements will be announced later. May he Rest in Peace.
