€500 award for top float as Clonaslee really push the boat out for this year’s St Patrick’s Day parade

It’s that time of the year again with St Patrick’s Day parades set to take place all around the country.

And in Clonaslee, the brilliant local committee behind their parade are offering a very impressive €500 cash prize (and trophy) for the overall best float on show on the day.

There is also a €100 cash prize for each of the five category winners.

The categories include best vintage, best dressed dog, best club/school, most original and most entertaining.

With entry free, there is bound to be huge interest – and no doubt some massively entertaining efforts from the members of the community.

The Clonaslee St Patrick’s Day parade, which took place for the first time ever last year, begins at 12 noon sharp on St Patrick’s Day, March 17. Assembly is at the Clonaslee Community Centre from 11am.

The Grand Marshal for this year’s parade is Clonaslee native Garrett Culliton, a multiple paralympian.

Donations towards the running of the event are being accepted. For more information contact Brendan on 087 9675054 or Ronan 085 1482296.
