Garvey Gerard, Hawthorn Way, Esker Hills, Portaloise and late of Kilkee, Co. Clare, May 11th 2023, peacefully at Tullamore Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Bernadette. Predeceased by his siblings, Senan, Bridie and Teresa. Sadly missed by his family in UK and Portlaoise – Sandra, Christopher, John and family in Kilkee and UK – Sally, Nuala, Mary, Michael and PJ, as well as all the nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family.

Reposing at Keegans funeral home, Portlaoise, on Monday evening from 6.30pm until 8pm, with rosary at 7.30pm. Removal on Tuesday to SS Peter and Paul’s Church to arrive for 12 noon requiem Mass. Mass may be viewed on https://www.portlaoiseparish.ie/webcam/. Interment will take place afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery.

Highfield Estate, Newbridge, Kildare / Mountrath, Laois

MORRISSEY Fintan (Highfield Estate, Newbridge, Co. Kildare and late of Mountrath, Co. Laois) Retd. Sergeant McDonagh Barracks, The Curragh – 13th May 2023 (peacefully) at his home with his loving family by his side. Sadly missed by his loving wife Kathleen, children Deirdre, Paul, Dominic, Stephen, Fintan, Tara, Denise, Lisa and Marie, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sister Breda, sister-in-law Peg, nieces and nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

James (Jim) Davis Stanley, Monamondra, Errill, Co. Laois. May 13th 2023. Peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Much adored husband and father. James will be sadly missed by his loving wife Frances and his six daughters Hilda, Rosie, Ruth, Pamela, June and Nicola, sons-in-law Graham, John, Ivor, Clive, Vinny and David, 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brother George, sister Phoebe, nephews, nieces, his extended family and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at O’Sullivan’s Funeral Home, Rathdowney (R32 NY24) on Monday 15th May from 5pm with prayers at 8pm. James’ remains will leave his family home on Tuesday 16th for funeral service in St. Andrew’s Church, Rathdowney (R32 XA52) at 2pm (https://youtube.com/@AllisonRitchieChurchSinger). Burial will take place at St. Columba’s Church, Rathsaran (DR32 NW50) at 3pm.

Gabriel Aroqbortise, Triogue Manor, Portlaoise. Died May 2nd 2023 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Deeply regretted by his loving partner Jackie his children Daniel, Kai, Benjamin, Gabriella, Emmanuel and Synthia, brother, sister, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home on Sunday (May 14th) from 4pm with prayers at 5pm. Removal on Monday (May 15th) to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise for 2pm funeral prayers. Philomena (Phil) Carroll Beechlawn, Portlaoise, Co.Laois. Died May 10th 2023 peacefully in the loving and tender care of Bernie and the staff of Ballard Lodge Nursing Home Portlaoise. Predeceased by her parents John Denis and Mai and sister Anne (Nano). Deeply regretted by her brother Eddie, sister in law Liz (nee Gilligan), nephews Shane and Johnathan, her dear friends Vi, cousins, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home on Sunday from 6:30pm with rosary at 8pm. Funeral arriving at SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise on Monday for requiem mass at 12 noon. Mass may be viewed on https://www.portlaoiseparish.ie/webcam/ . Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Patrick (Paddy) Haughney
Leixlip, Kildare/Crettyard, Laois

HAUGHNEY(Leixlip, Co. Kildare and formerly of Crettyard, Co. Laois) May 11th., 2023 (peacefully) in the loving care of the staff at Connolly Hospital, Paddy, beloved husband of Mary and dear father of Margaret, Noel, Kathleen, Martin and Áine; Sadly missed by his loving family, grandchildren Shane, Natasha, James, Dylan, Jason, Dean, Shauna, Mark, Shannon and Kevin, great-grandchildren Ava, Tommy, Ivy and Rían, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sister Elizabeth, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his home on Sunday (May 14th) between 6pm and 8pm. Removal on Monday morning (May 15th) to the Church of Our Lady’s Nativity, Leixlip arriving for Funeral Mass at 12Noon followed by burial in the Confey Cemetery.

Beloved husband of Josephine (nee Ryan), devoted father to John, Norma, Olwyn and the late James Jnr. Beloved grandad to Sinead, Holly, Chloe and her husband Ger, Jack, Thep and Lucy and great-grandad to Frankie and Culainn. Beloved brother to Kathleen, Lil, Paddy, Anne and the late Jackie. Sadly missed by his brother-in-law Donal, sons-in-law John and Conal, daughter-in-law Martina, Nuala, Claire, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Reposing at his residence 6 Ossory Terrace, Rathdowney, Co. Laois (R32 P8P6) on Saturday, 13th May, from 5pm to 8pm with rosary at 8pm and Sunday, 14th May, from 5pm to 8pm with rosary at 8pm. Removal on Monday, 15th May, to the Church of the Holy Trinity, Rathdowney for funeral mass at 12 noon (www.parishwebsites.ie/rathdowney) followed by burial in the local cemetery. House Private on Monday morning. Family flowers only.
