Bumper Sunday of Ladies football ahead as three Leinster finals to be staged in Portlaoise

O'Moore Park

O’Moore Park is set to be extremely busy this Sunday as three Ladies football finals will take place.

The Leinster Senior, Intermediate and Junior showpieces are down for decision throughout the day.

These finals have previously been staged in Dr Cullen Park and a few thousand people will be expected throughout Sunday.

The action is set to get underway on Sunday at 12pm as Carlow and Kilkenny meet in the Junior final.

The Intermediate grade, which Laois were in last year, will see Kildare meet defeated All-Ireland finalists Wexford.

The latter are reigning champions at this grade and that throws in at 2pm.

While the main event is down for decision at 4.15pm as Meath and Dublin clash.

Both sides defeated Laois in the Senior championship and Dublin also got the better of Meath in the round robin phase.

Following the completion of the provincial championships, Laois will learn their opponents for the All-Ireland series.

Laois are in Group A alongside Mayo and will be joined by the loser of Armagh and Donegal.

The championship gets underway on June 17 and Laois must finish in the top two places in order to advance to the quarter finals.

The bottom side in each group will head for relegation semi finals.
