All systems go as ninth annual Tom Kinsella Memorial Run in aid of two charities set for Stephen’s Day

Tom Kinsella Memorial

Now in its ninth year, the annual Tom Kinsella Memorial Christmas Convoy is set to return this St Stephen’s day in the hopes of raising €10,000.

This year all money raised will go towards Laois Hospice and Laois Alzheimer’s Society.

The services of Laois Hospice has helped to provide a palliative care service for Cancer patients, whose illness no longer responds to curative treatment.

The Hospice also provides support for the families of such patients. A service, which Tom received, and his family are eternally grateful for.

Laois Alzheimer’s Society home care service offers dementia specific, person centered care and their trained staff work with clients to ensure that they meet patient’s needs.

The annual Christmas Convoy is being organised by Ballyroan Vintage Club and Knock Vintage Club and Men’s Shed.

It will depart from Ballyroan Old Boy’s school and will travel through Spink before stopping off in Timahoe under the surrounds of the round tower, before returning to Whelan’s Bar in Ballyroan for refreshments and a raffle.

First prize on the day is €1,500 cash which is kindly sponsored by Bluebird Homecare.

Tickets are only €5 and are available from members of Ballyroan & Knock Vintage Clubs.

All donations made on iDonate will also be entered in the raffle.
