Baby Eve Bernadette Flannery

Baby Eve Bernadette Flannery died peacefully in the arms of her Mammy and Daddy on January 23rd, 2024. She is now in the care of her granny Sheila Cushen in heaven.

Eve gave us a lifetime of love during her short time on Earth. She will be forever loved and missed by her heartbroken parents Brian and Caroline, big sister Sarah and brothers Jack and Liam.

Much missed by her grandparents, Michael, Vincent and Bernie, great grandmother Julia, uncles, aunts and beloved cousins.

Special thanks to the staff of The Coombe Hospital, Temple Street Children’s Hospital and the maternity ward of Portlaoise Hospital. Private family service. In lieu of flowers, we would be appreciative of donations to Feileacain Neonatal Bereavement Charity in Eve’s memory if desired.

Christine Keyes (Dyna) 139 St Brigid’s Place, Portlaoise, January 24th 2024. Passed away peacefully at the Regional Hosp. Portlaoise. Surrounded by her loving family. Dearly loved wife to the late George.

And loving mother to Richard, George, Catherine, Christina, Julie, Brenda, Diane, Georgina and Ashling. Cherished grandmother to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, her brothers and sisters, sons in law and daughters in law.

Reposing at her family home from 2 pm on Thursday with rosary at 7.30 pm. Removal on Friday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 12 noon requiem mass followed by burial in SS Peter & Paul’s Cemetery, where she will be reunited with her loving husband George

Christopher F. Kiernan
Late of Ballybought, Tullamore, Offaly/Portlaoise, Laois

Died 24th January 2024 at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Lovingly cared for at the Maryborough Centre, Portlaoise. Deeply regretted by his brother Peter, sisters Elizabeth (Dublin) and Rosemarie (Australia), brother-in-law Jim, sister-in law Brenda, nieces, nephew, relatives and friends.

Reposing at the Maryborough Centre Portlaoise on Thursday evening 25th January 2024 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm and reposing in Lawless’ Funeral Home, Mucklagh Village (R35 C5P6) on Friday 26th January 2024 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm followed by Removal to St. Colmcille’s Church Durrow, Tullamore arriving 7:00 pm.

Requiem Mass on Saturday 27th January 2024 at 10:00 am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.

Ann Earley (née Ferriter)
Cushina Road, Portarlington, Laois/Rathangan, Kildare

Formerly of Coolenan, Rathangan, County Kildare. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Loving mother of the late Patrick (Paddy) recently deceased and dear sister of the late Jimmy and Pierce.

Deeply regretted by her loving husband P.J.,daughter Karen, son-in-law Paul, daughter-in-law Carina, grandchildren Stephen, Noah, Tadhg, Oisín and Fionnán, brother Luke, sisters Helen, Siobhan and Cáit, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest, Portarlington, on Wednesday evening from 6pm with Rosary at 8pm.

Removal on Thursday morning at 11:20am, arriving St Michael’s Church, Portarlington, for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery, Portarlington.

RYAN (née O’Shaughnessy), Kathleen (Swords & formerly of Cloghran & Ballinakill, Co. Laois) – January 23rd, 2024 (peacefully) at home.

Sadly missed by her loving husband Jack, sons Alan and John, daughters Anne, Cathy and Jennifer, son-in-law Phillip, daughters-in-law Ita and Ann, grandchildren Sean, Liam, Harry, Alannah, Lucy and Kevin, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Rock’s Funeral Home, Swords on Thursday (Jan. 25th) evening from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. Removal on Friday (Jan. 26th) to St. Colmcille’s Church, Swords arriving for 12 noon Mass followed by burial in adjoining cemetery. Moira Bolger nee Conroy of Rockpark Avenue, Tralee, Co. Kerry and formerly Laois, Southampton and Newbridge died peacefully on 22nd January 2024.

Beloved wife of the late Michael and dear mother of Mary, Michael, Christopher, Sarah Mark & Anthony. Pre-deceased by her grandparents Mary and Denis Conroy and her mother Molly.

Sadly missed by her loving family, her grandchildren Karl, Emmet, Emer, Clodagh, Orla, Ruiari, Ellie, Aidan, Jack, Tadhg, Matilda & Joe, great grandchildren Hannah & Tom, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, son-in-law Greg, daughters-in-law Tina, Michelle & Amy, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at her residence 33 Rockpark Avenue, Tralee on Wednesday from 5.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. Funeral arriving to Our Lady & St. Brendan’s Church, Tralee on Thursday at 12.30 p.m. where the Requiem Mass for Moira will be celebrated at 1.00 p.m. (streamed on www.stbrendansparishtralee.net). Reposing at Rigney’s Funeral Home, Athy, on Friday evening (Jan 26th) from 6.30pm until 8.30pm. Removal on Saturday morning to arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Wolfhill, for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Doonane Cemetery.

Formerly of Gracefield, Portarlington County Offaly. Peacefully at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by his father Thomas and mother Margaret, brothers and sisters.

Deeply regretted by his loving brother Paddy, sister Rose, brother-in-law John, sister-in-law Mary, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Michael (Mick) Stynes, Arles, Ballickmoyler, Carlow, January 22nd 2024 suddenly at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Brigid and much loved father of Brendan, Michael, Eamon, Christopher and John.

Sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, brother Jim, daughters-in-law Barbara, Clare, Kate, Abigail and Nina, his 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents, sister Bridie and brother Nicholas.

Reposing in R. Healy & Son Funeral Home, Pollerton Castle, Carlow on Friday evening from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 11am in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Arles. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Breda Dolan (née Mulhare)

Dolan, Breda (née Mulhare) (Late of Slemish Road, Dublin 7 and formerly of Stradbally, Co. Laois) – 21st of January, 2024, peacefully surrounded by her loving family and in the wonderful care of all the doctors and nurses in St Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown. Predeceased by her brothers Michael and Brendan, sister Nina.

Beloved wife and soul mate of Con and cherished mother to Ciara, James, and Ana. Sadly missed by her loving family, Ciara’s partner John, sisters Toni, Margaret and Elizabeth, brothers Joe and David, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Mass to Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Navan Road, Dublin 7 on Friday, 26th of January to arrive at 9.55 am for 10 am Requiem Mass. Cremation thereafter to Glasnevin Crematorium for service at 12.30 pm.

Lila Lynch (née Nolan), Kiln Lane, Mountrath, Co. Laois. Died 22nd January 2024, at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise surrounded by her loving by her family. Predeceased by her brother Peter.

Deeply regretted by her husband Bernie, sons Ray, Turlough and Darren, daughter Michelle, grandchildren Dylan and Chloe, nephews, nieces, brothers Ollie, Tim, Noel and John, sister Ann (Tobin), extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home, Mountrath on Tuesday evening (January 23rd) from 6.0’clock, concluding with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Removal on Wednesday morning (January 24th) to St. Fintan’s Church, Mountrath (eircode R32X338), for Requiem Mass at 10.0’clock, followed by Burial in St. Fergal’s Cemetery, Camross.

David McDonald
Derrydavy, Mountmellick, Laois

David McDonald Derrydavy, Mountmellick, Co. Laois, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the care of the nurses and doctors in Auckland City Hospital, New Zealand.

Sadly missed by his loving partner Flavio Villani and his devastated parents Peter and Elsie. Adored by his sisters Anna, Lizzie and Orla.

His beloved nephews Billy and Jack and niece Lucy. Sadly missed by his bothers-in-laws John Ryan, John Kirwan and Gary Guilfoyle, his aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, neighbours and vast circle of friends.

David will repose in his home (Derrydavy, Mountmellick R32 HD36) on Wednesday 24th & Thursday 25th from 2pm with recital of The Rosary at 8pm.

Removal on Friday 26th at 10.15am to St Joseph’s Church Mountmellick via The Rock arriving for 11 o’clock Requiem Mass followed by cremation at 2pm in Newlands Cross Crematorium Dublin D24 EP83.

Anyone who wishes to attend the crematorium is more than welcome.

Anthony Reddin, Triogue Place, Portlaoise. Died 21st January 2024. Peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise surrounded by his loving family.

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Tallagh University Hospital Dublin.

Deeply regretted by her loving husband P.J., her sons Patrick, Damien, Paul and Martin and her daughter Sharon. Sadly missed by her daughters-in-law, son-in-law, brothers, sisters, her adoring grandchildren, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Br. Gabriel (George) Whyte, De La Salle Brothers, Castletown, Portlaoise, Co. Laois and late of Castletown Road, Dundalk, Co. Louth, January 21st. 2024, peacefully in the loving care of the Community and staff of Miguel House.

Predeceased by his parents John and Alice, sisters Kitty (Cumiskey), Mave and Bredge, brother in law Harry, sister in law Brighid (McLoone). Sadly missed by his brother Paddy, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnephews, many relations and friends, his confreres and the staff in Miguel House Care Home.

Predeceased by his brothers Joseph and Denis, his sisters Mary, Nora, Bridget, Angela and Eileen.
