The inaugural launch event of Google Developer Group (GDG) Portlaoise, a local chapter of the worldwide GDG network, proved a resounding success.

GDG Portlaoise is a community-driven platform dedicated to connecting and empowering tech enthusiasts across the Midlands region.

It brings together developers, designers, entrepreneurs, and students to share knowledge, explore new technologies, and build innovative projects.

The event saw a strong turnout of over 50 tech enthusiasts, professionals, and students, highlighting the growing interest in technology across the Midlands region.

Hosted at the offices of sponsors FRS Recruitment in The Cube, Portlaoise, the launch event kicked off with a lively networking reception where attendees enjoyed pizza and refreshments.

The energy was palpable as like-minded individuals connected and discussed their shared passion for technology.

The evening’s highlight was a series of insightful career talks by distinguished tech leaders.

Niall Maher, Founder of Codú, shared his journey from frontend to CTO and offered valuable advice on navigating the dynamic tech industry.

Yehor Herasymchuk, CTO of Dots Platform, delved into the founding a startup and turning a pet project into one million customers.
