Paddy Dempsey. Marian Ave., Portlaoise. March 5th 2024 Peacefully surrounded by his loving family. In the tender care of the staff of Ballard Lodge Nursing Home. Loving husband of the late Rose. Loving father to Cora and Cyril. Cherished grandfather to Emily, Alan, Conor, Tara, and Ryan.

Deeply regretted by his loving family, son in law Joe Maher, daughter in law, Noeleen, brother Joe, sisters in law Kathleen and Margaret Minnock (Ballycumber), nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at the family residence on Wednesday from 6 pm, with rosary at 8 pm. Requiem mass will take place at 12 noon on Thursday in SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise. Interment will follow in Boher Cemetery, Ballycumber. Arriving at 2.30 pm approx.

Catherine (Kathleen) Dowling (née O’Connell)
Emo, Laois

Catherine (Kathleen) Dowling Emo, Portlaoise (R32 H5C0). Died March 3rd 2024 at Tallaght Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Tommy.

Deeply regretted by her sons Ray, John and Mark, her daughter Elaine, daughter -in-law Lorraine, Grandchildren Jack, Kelly, Niamh, Jane, Sarah, Michael, Aine, Sean,Thomas,and Ciara, her eight great-grandchildren, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in her home on Wednesday from 6pm Recital of The Rosary at 8pm. Removal from her home on Thursday morning at 11.40am to St.Paul’s Church, Emo arriving for Requiem Mass at 12noon. Cremation Service at 3pm in Newlands Cross Crematorium.


Dennis Richards
Shraduff, Clonaslee, Laois

Died peacefully under the excellent care of the nursing and medical staff in Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore.

Very sadly missed by his loving partner Mary, her children Daniel, MaryEllen, John, Tracy and Liz along with his neighbours and friends.

Reposing Moloneys Funeral Home, Mountmellick on Tuesday evening from 7.30pm to 9pm. Removal on Wednesday from the funeral home at1.15 pm to Newlands Cross Crematorium for Cremation Service at 3pm.

Skerry, Rosenallis, Laois

Peadar Gorman Skerry, Rosenallis, Co. Laois died the 25th of February 2024 peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Peter and Margaret and his brother Tom.

Beloved husband of Patricia, dear father of Linda, Deirdre, Marie and Caroline.

Sadly missed by his loving grandchildren Emma, Jack Orla, Ashleen, Kamron, Mathew and Charlotte, sons-in- law James and Francis, brothers sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Moloney’s Funeral Home Mountmellick from 6pm on Monday the 4th of March concluding with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Tuesday at 10.30am to St. Bridget’s Church Rosenallis for Requiem mass at 11am followed by a private cremation service in Newlands Cross Crematorium (family only).

Donations if desired to the Cuisle Centre Portlaoise. A donation box will be in the funeral home and the church.

Sue Mary Attle (née Maile)
Grove Park, Mountmellick, Laois

The unexpected death of Sue Mary Attle (Nee Maile) of Grove Park, Mountmellick, Co. Laois. Administrator of Mountmellick Community Sports Complex & formerly of Brophy Insurance, Portlaoise. Died peacefully, at home, on Tuesday, 27th February 2024.

Predeceased by her beloved Mother Eiblis & Brother David. Survived but deeply saddened by husband Spencer, father Donald, brother Chris, much loved uncles Joe & Frank Cunneen, aunties Yvonne & Barbara, cousins, relatives, neighbours & friends.

Reposing at Moloney’s Undertakers Funeral Home on Saturday 2pm to 5pm and Tuesday 3pm to 7pm.

May we request that the family home is private for family only on the morning of the funeral.

The funeral is to take place at St Joseph’s Catholic Church at 11am on Wednesday, 6th March. The service will be held by Father Michael Murphy.

Baby James Moran
Main Street, Ballyroan, Laois

We are overcome with sadness as Baby James gained his wings and joined the angels yesterday, in the arms of his loving parents at Kings College Hospital, London.

Precious son to John and Michelle, missed by his brothers Anto & TJ, grandparents Des, Carmel, Liam, Imelda, great-granny Philomena, aunts Tara, Sabrina, Ciara, Sarah, Tracy, Mary, uncles Darren, Sean, Eamonn, all his cousins and extended family.

Please keep both families in your prayers at this difficult time and give John and Michelle the strength to grieve in private.
