National Camogie League Division 3A Round 3

Laois made it three wins from three in the National Camogie league as they defeated Roscommon this afternoon.

A strong second half showing ensured that Laois finished top of the pile and will have a home semi final.

They are scheduled to play Kildare next on the weekend of March 23.

Roscommon had the breeze in the first half and they used it to build up a lead.

Shauna Fallon, who was Roscommon’s only scorer, gave them the lead with Tara Lowry wiping that out.

Fallon added two more scores to regain the lead for Roscommon and although Aisling O’Dea replied, Fallon added another brace before half time.

Aisling O’Dea grabbed a point before the break but Laois went it 0-5 to 0-3 down at half time.

But Laois took the lead for the first time in the first minute of the second half when some great work for Kirsten Keenan resulted in a goal for Jessie Quinlan.

Quinlan added a free and then Karla Wheln slotted a fine point from wing back.

Shauna Fallon got Roscommon underway for the second half in the 43rd minute and she got their final score in the 52nd.

In between, Laois had a point from Aivia Coss and a brilliant goal from distance from sub Eimear Hassett.

And they finished the game strongly with a brace from Aimee Collier and one from Susie Delaney for an eight point victory.
