More new developments given the green light in Portlaoise’s Togher Business Park

Laois County Council have awarded planning permission to two separate companies for a pair of new developments in Togher, Portlaoise.

Allwood Architectural Joinery Ltd have been given the green light to develop a new facility at sites 3 and 4 at Togher’s Junction 17 Industrial Park.

The application will see construction of a light industrial unit with a footprint of 2,627 square metres, and overall floor area of 3,417 square metres, plus associated roads.

There will also be a carpark, a service yard, and two individual entrances from the adjoining roadway.

The ground floor of the unit will consist of industrial space, containing a manufacturing area with a two storey glazed entrance area at the South East corner.

The first floor contains an office area and welfare facilities.

General external treatment will be completed in a variety of Microrib insulated cladding, with glazed panels along the Southern and Eastern Elevation.

The roof will be formed in insulated trapezoidal cladding and will support extensive solar arrays across its area.

Landscaping will also be developed along the Southern and Eastern areas, with an extensive staff amenity and wellbeing area, including pitch and gym equipment formed adjacent to natural surface water attenuation ponds.

The county Council have also given Promech Engineering permission for a development at a neighbouring unit in Togher’s Junction 17 Industrial Park.

The company will develop a light industrial unit, including offices and welfare facilities, with a footprint of 1,208 square metres, and an overall floor area of 1,417 square metres.

There is also provision for associated entrances, car parking, a bicycle shelter, a service yard, and signage.

Permission has also been approved for a 2.5m high palladium fence to the sides and rear with stone piers, wall, and fence to the front roadside and all associated site works.
