Laois primary school receives approval for two modular special educational needs classrooms

Approval for two new Special Educational Needs (SEN) modular classrooms has been granted for Shanganmore National School in Barrowhouse.

Laois TD Sean Fleming confirmed the good news for the school recently.

He said: “This school project went to tender a number of months ago.

“I have been in contact with the Minister to ensure that approval was given to the school to appoint a contractor to carry out the works.

“It is great news for the school that this approval has now been granted.

“These two new classrooms will be high-quality modular classrooms and will meet the needs of the children with special educational needs.

“I want to acknowledge the great work by the Principal, Board of Management, teaching and other staff, parents and the entire school community for their work in respect of this new Special Educational Needs unit.

“I now look forward to the project progressing on the ground, so that it will be available for the children that require this facility as soon as possible.”
