Local band ‘Coolboy’ performed in Kavanagh’s Bar on Sunday night to celebrate the release of their debut single.
The track titled ‘High Tide’ released on July 4 and has amassed thousands of streams on Spotify and was well received by the crowd as they played the song live for the first time.
The band were supported by another talented, local group ‘The Donny’s’ before they took to the stage themselves at 9:30pm.
Coolboy are a four piece Indie Rock band based here in County Laois.
The group includes Tadgh O’Dwyer on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Alex Power on bass, Fionn Devoy on lead guitar and Ruari Phelan on drums.
The lads, all exceptionally talented musicians, were part of separate bands before joining forces in 2023 to form Coolboy.
They are just off the back of recording a brand new television series with RTÉ ‘An Ghig Mhór’ as they were selected as one of the six up and coming artists in the country to appear in the show.
Coolboy are performing in Ramsbottom’s Stradbally on August 12 and shouldn’t be missed!
