Parkinson’s Ireland are delighted to announce the launch of its new flagship fundraiser “A Walk in the Park for Parkinson’s.
Sponsored by Home Instead, this annual event will take place in various locations around Ireland on Saturday, September 21, at 11 am.
East Midlands Parkinson’s – the local branch of Parkinson’s Ireland covering counties Laois and Kildare – is running their local walk in Colt GAA grounds (R32 V085) at 11am.
Funds raised on the day will help provide weekly therapy classes which take place in the Parish Centres in Portlaoise and Newbridge.
Join in for a positive day of awareness and fundraising for Parkison’s Disease and the essential services provided by Parkinson’s Ireland and its branches around the country.
This annual event promises to be a fun day out for our members, their loved ones and the general public.
Attendees can walk as much or as little as they feel comfortable with on the day, with a message of “come together to support one another”.
Participation contributes to raising awareness about Parkinson’s and promoting better care and support for those living with this disease and their families. All are welcome.

The cost is €20 per person, which includes a free tt-shirt on the day.
Refreshments will be served for all afterwards in Doogues Bar, Raheen, across the road from the GAA grounds.
