Gardai launch investigation after child struck by car in Laois village

Gardai are appealing for information after a young child was struck by a car in Ballylinan.

Thankfully, the young girl only received minor injuries following the incident.

But Gardai are anxious to speak to the driver of the car.

They are also appealing for anyone with dashcam footage or anyone who was a witness to the incident to come forward.

Gardai say: “Laois Roads Policing Unit are investigating the circumstances of a road traffic collision which occurred on Wednesday September 16 at approximately 3.30pm.

“It occurred at Rahin Wood, Ballylinan, Laois.

“A young girl received minor injuries following contact with a car.

“Gardai are anxious to speak to the driver of the car and any further witnesses. Portlaoise Gardai can be contacted at 0578674100.

“The picture above is of the location where incident occurred.

“If you passed through area at time and have dashcam footage please let us know also.”
