Emergency services have been called to the scene of an accident in Laois on the N80 stretch of road between Portlaoise to Tullamore.
It is not yet known if anybody has suffered any injuries in the accident this evening.
Substantial traffic delays are now occurring just outside of Mountmellick.
Gardaí, HSE ambulance staff and Laois Fire and Rescue Services are busy on the scene.

Significant rush hour traffic congestion is building up on the on the busy road through Laois and Offaly.
Meanwhile, Laois Irish rail commuters can expect delays as an artic lorry crashed into a railway bridge in Portlaoise earlier this evening.
Traffic in the area was delayed for a short time in the area but the incident was cleared.
