County champions Stradbally booked their place in the last four of the Kelly Cup thanks to a 1-11 to 1-8 win over Ballylinan tonight.

A goal from Cormac Delaney and six points from Colm Kelly were crucial as the win puts Stradbally into the semi-finals in two weeks time.

With Timahoe pulling out Group C it meant that the Stradbally-Ballylinan clash was the only game in the three-team group. The game, then, was essentially a quarter-final and Stradbally, after leading 0-5 to 0-4 at half-time, had enough to spare in the second half.

Elsewhere, Graiguecullen continued their unbeaten start under new manager Padraig Clancy. They were 4-12 to 0-9 winners over Ballyfin Gaels under the lights in Clonad.

Graigue, who beat Killeshin last week were 2-8 to 0-4 up at the break. Ian Fleming, Bob Doogue and Aaron Forbes were all impressive for the winners.

The win means they are now most likely to go through to the semi-final but they will play Arles-Killeen next week while Ballyfin will meet Killeshin.
