On a hectic day of the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol action in O’Moore Park today, 12 finals between hurling and camogie were decided.

Roinn 7 Camogie – Rosenallis 9-7 Killenure 3-3
The Rosenallis girls went goal-crazy in their win over a brave Killenure outfit. It was 6-4 to 1-2 at half-time and while Killenure never gave up, Rosenallis were worthy winners. Full report here
Roinn 7 Hurling – Rushall 8-7 Clonaghadoo 2-11
Aaron and Jamie Phelan scored 7-4 between them as Rushall claimed the first hurling title of the day in the Roinn 6 decider.
And Clonaghadoo had a star in their ranks too as the outstanding Diarmuid Dooley finished with 1-10 to his name and was very unfortunate to end up on the losing side. Full report here
Roinn 4 Hurling – Killenure 9-15 Knock 4-11
The young hurlers of Killenure were very impressive in this game with Kevin Byrne top-scoring with 5-4.
Indeed the school that has provided many hurlers to Camross over the years had to be at their very best. Knock, who had Conor Fiztpatrick on top form scoring 1-9 and Liam Kehoe scoring 3-1 in the second half, put up a really strong showing. Full report here
Roinn 3 Camogie – Abbeyleix 7-6 Holy Family 0-8
The Holy Family support was a sight to behold as they walked down the town and took over a large section of the terrace in O’Moore Park.
But it was the Abbeyleix girls that came out on the right side of the scoreline as their ability to score goals made all the difference. Full report here
Roinn 1 Hurling – Abbeyleix 2-13 Cullohill 0-4
Colin Byrne helped himself to 11 points as Abbeyleix completed a hurling/camogie double for the town’s schools by getting the better of Cullohill.
An early Liam Kavanagh goal set Abbeyleix on the way and despite three points from Liam Kirby for Cullohill, Abbeyleix had too much. Full report here
Roinn 1 Camogie – Cullohill 8-4 Emo 4-1
Lucy O’Connor got a hat-trick as Cullohill – who appeared in the Division 1 finals in hurling and camogie – made up for the disappointment of the hurling loss by getting the better of Emo in the camogie final. Full report here
Roinn 2 Hurling – Emo 5-7 Camross 3-4
Arguably the best game of the day was the Roinn 2 hurling final as an Emo side with Noel Costelloe and Cyril Duggan on their management team got the better of Camross.
Sean Downey was the star of the show, the Emo forward finishing with a whopping 5-6. Full report here
Roinn 2 Camogie – Errill 3-5 Paddock 1-3
Eimear Hassett was the star of the show as St Colmcille’s NS Errill triumphed in the Roinn 4 final. The classy midfielder scored 1-4 as Errill got the better of Paddock, despite the best efforts of Aoibheann Dalton who scored 1-3 for the losing side. Full report here
Jack Ahern scored 2-6 for The Rock as they got the better of The Heath in the Roinn 5 hurling final.
Roinn 5 Hurling – The Rock 8-9 The Heath 5-3
The Rock led 5-5 to 2-2 at half time but The Heath made a good battle of it throughout the second half before The Rock finally ran out winners with a bit to spare. Full report here
Roinn 7 Camogie – Knockmay 7-0 Camross 1-0
It was all goals in the Roinn 7 camogie final as Knockmay got the better of a Camross side who had Dublin footballer Denis Bastick helping out with their pre-match preparations.
Ester Ubesie and Blessing Mbeba scored three goals each for Knockmay. Full report here
Roinn 8 Camogie – Portarlington 7-6 Killenard 1-1
Jessie Whelan scored 3-5 and Rebecca Mullaly got 3-0 as Portarlington got the better of neighbours Killenard in the Roinn 8 camogie final. Full report here
