Your guide to what’s on in Laois over the weekend

Here at LaoisToday we’ve complied a list of all the hottest events and attractions around the county this weekend.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 11
  • Fashionistas rejoice. Friends Together Portarlinton are holding a fashion show at 8pm in the Scouts Den, Main Street Portarlington.
  • There is a free photography class in the Portarlington Commnutiy Centre at 8pm for anyone hopnig to learn a few tips and tricks with the camera.
  • Round 2 of the Laois Senior Football championship gets underway as The Heath play Graiguecullen at 7.30pm in O’Moore Park.
  • In the intermediate football championship – Timahoe play Annanough in Stradbally at 7.30pm while Emo take on Portlaoise in Mountmellick at the same time.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 12
  • The weekly Vicarstown Parkrun takes place in Vicarstown at 9.30am
  • Laois play Galway in O’Moore Park at 2.15pm in the last round of the All-Ireland Camogie Intermediate championship.
  • Senior football continues as Ballyfin Gaels take on Stradbally in the qualifier in O’Moore Park at 4.30pm.
  • O’Moore Park also plays host to Ballylinan v St Joseph’s at 6pm and O’Dempsey’s v Portlaoise at 7.30pm.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 13
  • The weekly Junior Parkrun takes place in Vicarstown at 11.00.
  • The senior football championship action continues in O’Moore Park as Crettyard Gaels play Clonaslee-St Manman’s at 12pm, Arles-Killeen play Mountmellick Gaels at 1.30pm , Arles Kilcruise take on Killeshin at 5.30pm and Portarlington play Ballyroan-Abbey at 7pm.
