Chainsaw and equipment stolen during robberies

Thieves made off with items including a chainsaw overnight following a spate of robberies near Cullahill.

A number of domestic sheds and cars were broken into in the Rapla area in the early hours of this morning.

Equipment and the chainsaw were taken during the robberies.

Anyone with information can contact gardai at Abbeyleix Garda Station at 0578731202.

Gardai in Laois are also investigating a break-in at Rathdowney Golf Club  in the early hours of this morning.

A glass panel of a door was broken during the robbery.

CCTV footage was being examined this morning in an attempt to identify the culprits.

Brick

In a separate incident, the window of a garda squad car was smashed by someone who threw a brick at it.

The incident happened at O’Moore place after ardai in Portlaoise attended to deal with a public order incident.
