Appeal for information after digger, dumper and buckets stolen

Gardai are appealing for information after a digger, dumper and buckets were stolen in Killeshin.

The incident took place at a private building site over the weekend.

It happened in Old Derrig, Killeshin. A Kobelco 6 tonne digger, a Benford 6 tonne dumper and buckets were among the main items stolen.

Gardaí are appealing to the public if they saw anything suspicious or the vehicle which used to steal them.

If so, they are asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station.

Separately, Gardaí are warning members of the public about another scam.

Laois Crime Prevention Officier Sergeant Graham Kavanagh Crime is asking the public to be aware that they should not accept phone calls asking for credit card details to pay speeding fines.

He is issueing the warning as a result of a number of calls from people that have received such calls.
