Repairs sought for road near Ballyfin Demesne

Repairing a road near Ballyfin would be much appreciated by the owners of the renowned hotel nearby, according to Cllr David Goodwin.

He had a motion seeking the road repair work at Campclone, Ballyfin, after the flood, at the recent Borris-in-Ossory/Mountmellick Municipal District meeting.

Engineer Paul McLoughlin confirmed that Laois County Council will carry out works to repair the road at this location.

“It’s near one of the world’s best hotels,” Cllr Goodwin said.

“The road also leads to the Slieve Bloom mountains, which is a great amenity up there,” he said.

Important

This road is important for the locals and tourism in the area, he said.

The work he said, “will be appreciated by the hotel owners and its guests,” he said.

Cllr Seamus McDonald agreed that the work is necessary.

“It will be a great benefit for the area to have it repaired,” he said.
