Cullohill Walking Club 

Walking continues every Monday and Friday leaving Cullohill Community Centre at 7.30pm.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 6

Bosco meets Hansel and Gretel

The famous Bosco will meet Hansel and Gretel at the Dunamaise Arts Centre at 12pm and 2pm.

Tickets are €10 and are available from the Dunamaise Theatre.

U18 Basketball National Cup semi-final

Portlaoise Panthers fans will be making the trip to UCC to see the U18 girls take on DCU Mercy at 10.00am.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 7

Laois football 

The Laois football team are at home to Westmeath in the O’Byrne Cup in Stradbally at 2pm.

Blessing of the babies ceremony 

The anual blessing of the babies ceremony takes place in St. Peter & Paul’s Church at 2pm.

POPA Christmas Party

The Portlaoise Old People’s Association 55th Christmas party is on in the Gandon Inn at 2pm.

Tickets cot €10 per person and include dinner. Tickets could be bought from the Parish Centre and Martley’s newsagents. Over 65s only.

Slieve Bloom Walks

Slieve Bloom walks are holding a 10km (four hour) walk in Arderin/Glenamoon.
Walkers will be assembling at the Cattle Mart, Mountrath with walk leader Susan Lawlor at 11am.

U20 Basketball National Cup semi-final

The super weekend continues in UCC for Portlaoise Panthers as their U20s take on DCU Mercy at 11am.
