LIVE BLOG: O’Byrne Cup Laois v Westmeath in Stradbally

We're live in Stradbally for the meeting of Westmeath and Laois in the O'Byrne Cup

It is a case of do or die for Laois in Bill Delaney Park, Stradbally this afternoon.

John Sugrue’s men need to beat Westmeath by two points to reach a home semi final against either Offaly or Dublin.

Laois lost out by a point, 1-13 to 1-12, against the same opposition last week in Mullingar.

As there are only two teams in this group, aggregate score over the two games will decide who advances.

If Laois win by a point, we will have extra time. And if it remains level after that, we will have a novel way to settle the game.

Both sides will engage in a point kicking competition! So there’s certainly a part of us that would love to see that.

For the game itself, Laois manager Sugrue has named an entirely different 15 for today’s game.
