Rita Poole (nee Dooley), Rosenallis Village, Co. Laois, died peacefully on the 22nd of January 2018 at Dromineen Nursing Home Stradbally Co. Laois. Predeceased by her husband James and son Andy. She will be sadly missed by her loving sons Martin and Leonard, grandchildren Liam and Tom, daughter-in-law Caroline, nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends.

​Reposing at her residence from 6pm this Tuesday evening with Rosary at 9pm. Reposing at her residence on Wednesday from 12 noon with removal on Wednesday evening to St. Brigid’s Church, Rosenallis, arriving at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 12 noon, followed by burial afterwards in St. Brigid’s Cemetery, Rosenallis.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Ashling, daughter Shauna, parents Margaret and Tom, sister Lizzy, brother Denis, the Doyle family, brother-in-law Stephen, sister-in-law Marie, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his residence from 2pm on Tuesday with Rosary on Tuesday and Wednesday night at 8pm. Removal on Thursday afternoon, arriving at St. Joseph’s Church, Ballyadams for Requiem Mass at 1pm. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. House private on Thursday please.

 Copley, Green Road, Portlaoise. And recently in the tender care of Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home. January 21st 2018. (Unexpectedly). Jack, beloved husband of Betty and dearly loved father to Ann, Helen, Deirdre and Séan. And cherished granddad to Aoife, Niamh, Ciarán, Stephen, Christian, Ciara, Brian, Eoin, Lauren and Danielle. Deeply regretted by his loving family, brothers-in-law, sons in law Phillip and Gerry, and daughter in law Lillian. nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7 pm with rosary at 8 pm. Removal on Wednesday morning to SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 10 am Requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Main Street, Rathdowney, Laois

Catherine (Kathleen) Carroll, Main Street, Rathdowney, Co. Laois. January 21st 2018. Peacefully at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, Dublin. Sadly Mourned by her brother Jim, cousins, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her home on Tuesday evening from 6pm with rosary at 8pm. Funeral Mass in The Church Of The Holy Trinity, Rathdowney on Wednesday at 12 noon followed by burial in Bealady Cemetery, Rathdowney.

Simon Dollard
London, UK/Ballyedmond, Rathdowney

Simon Dollard, late of London, UK and formerly of Ballyedmond, Rathdowney, County Laois passed away on 18th January 2018. Pre-deceased by his parents, John and Bridget, his brothers, Paddy, Eddie and Walter and his sisters, Marie and Eileen.

He will be sadly missed by his brother, Sean, and sisters, Lily, Breda and Alice, brother-in-law, Tom, sister-in-law, Peg, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements have yet to be settled and details will follow.

(formerly Dr. Murphy’s Place, Portlaoise) beloved husband of the late Magdalen (nee Tierney) and much loved father of Thomas, Eamonn and Maria. Sadly missed by his sons and daughter, brothers Liam and Tom, sisters Moira, Barbara , Vera and Concepta, daughters-in-law Gemma and Elaine, son-in-law Philip, adored grandchildren Molly, Luke, Maeve, Seán and Kealan, extended family and many friends. Reposing at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway on Tuesday, 23rd January from 4.30 p.m. with Removal at 7 p.m. to the Augustinian Church. Requiem Mass on Wednesday, 24th January at 11 a.m. Funeral after Mass to Rahoon cemetery, Galway. Family flowers only. Donations to the Galway Hospice.

Reposing at her son Gordon’s residence (Kellyville) from 12.00 noon on Sunday. Removal from Kellyville on Monday afternoon at 1.30pm to St Fintan’s Church, Durrow for Funeral Service at 2.30pm. Burial immediately afterwards in Attanagh Churchyard.

Drennan Acermore, Earlspark, Loughrea, Co Galway, formerly Ilford, Essex, England & originally Ballybrophy, Borris-In-Ossory, Co Laois. John (Sean) dearly loved husband will be sadly missed by his darling wife Maisie, devoted father will be dearly cherished by his daughters Angela (Kilkenny) & Maria (Stormont), he will be fondly remembered by his loving sons-in-law Alan & Allan, grandchildren Saoirse, Lonneke, Imogen & Lucy, brother Liam, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, extended family & his many friends.

 Reposing in Kilboy’s funeral home this Sunday evening from 5 with removal 7 o’clock to St Dympna’s Church, Kilnadeema. Requiem Mass Monday at 12 O’clock followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations, if so desired, to Patient Comfort Fund, I.C.U. U.H.G.

Gorman (nee Troy) Irey, Ballyfin, Co. Laois. In her 100th Year. Peacefully in the tender care of the staff of Ballard Lodge Nursing Home and surrounded by her loving family. Julia, predeceased by her husband Daniel and daughter Dina (Harte) and daughter-in-law Mary. Son in law Billy Guilfoyle . Sadly missed by her loving family, daughters Maura (Guilfoyle), Bríd (Purcell), Sheila (Carroll), sons Charlie, Willie and Danny, son in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Charlie’s residence at Irey from 4pm on Friday with rosary at 9pm. Removal to SS Fintan’s Church, Ballyfin on Saturday to arrive at 7 pm. Requiem Mass at 10am on Sunday followed by interment in the New Cemetery, Ballyfin. Family flowers only.

Houlihan (nee Lambe) Oaklawn, Ballyfin Road, Portlaoise. Jan 18th 2018 Peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Margaret beloved wife to Jim and dearly loved mother to Noel, Jenny, Karen, Richard, Stephen, and Anthony. Deeply regretted by her loving family. Mother Mary, brothers Johnny, Frank, William, Fint, Kevin, Owen, Brendan, James, Paddy. Sisters Geraldine, Martina, Kathleen, Carmel, Bernie and Helen. Brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her residence from 3 pm on Saturday, with rosary at 8 pm. Again in Sunday reposing from 3 pm with rosary at 8 pm. On Monday house private. Arriving at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery.
