Abbeyleix Further Education and Training Centre to host Open Evening

Abbeyleix Further Education

The Open Evening presents an opportunity to meet both staff and students.  Information will be available on the courses offered at the Centre.

People can discover the many possibilities for their career and find out about the different funding options available e.g. VTOS (Vocational Opportunities and Training Scheme), SUSI or Back to Education Allowance.

There are courses available in a wide range of areas – Animation, Art, Healthcare, eBusiness, IT and Business Management.

Both the Business Management and Art courses offer advanced entry routes to third level colleges i.e. entry to the 2nd year of a degree course.

The Centre offers a General Studies course. Students who successfully complete this course can then progress to one of the Post Leaving Certificate courses offered at the Centre. The Leaving Certificate course is another popular choice.

Students who complete this course may progress to further studies at QQI Level 5 or to third level courses.

Students at Abbeyleix Further Education and Training Centre enjoy the relaxed and friendly environment created by the interaction of staff and students.

The relatively small size of the student population at the Centre lends itself to a more individual approach to learning.

You can register now for September 2018 and that can be done by applying online at www.abbeyleixfec.ie.  You can also contact the Centre by calling (057) 8731127.  The Centre advises early application as there are limited places available on each course.

The Centre is run by Laois and Offaly Education & Training Board (LOETB) and is situated on the Mountrath Road just outside Abbeyleix.
