Laois woman makes heartfelt appeal over stolen engagement ring

Have you seen this ring?

Ballybrittas woman Maylena McEvoy has made a heartfelt appeal to people to try find and return her stolen engagement ring today.

An appeal has been launched by Gardaí to find the ring, which was taken at her home in Graigavern Lodge, Ballybrittas, Laois last week.

Speaking to Midlands 103, Maylena said: “Maybe it’s been sold on but I’m appealing to someone’s better nature that if they have it – or if some one has bought it and realises that it’s stolen – that this is someone else’s ring and it really means a lot to them.”

“It really is the only piece of jewellery I own”

Maylena got engaged to her partner Damien in 2014 and said that the ring,  “really is the only piece of jewellery that I own.”

It’s a white gold ring, which she describes as being, “only a dainty little thing.”

“There is a small diamond in the centre with a cluster of diamonds around it and diamonds on the band of the ring,” she added.
