There was disappointment for the two Laois soccer clubs who were in cup action today.

In Carlow, Killeshin were bidding to win the Keating Memorial Premier Cup.

The side, managed by Michael Dargan, were up against Parkville United – a side who had stunned favourites Crettyard United in the semi final.

But sadly it wasn’t to be for Killeshin as they went down 1-0.

Elsewhere, Stradbally Town were bidding to reach the CCFL Youth cup final in the Lawn this afternoon.

They took on Athlone side Willow Park, who had just won the U-17 Premier Division a couple of days ago.

But unfortunately the game was over by half time as Willow Park held a 4-1 lead.

And despite their best efforts, Stradbally Town just couldn’t get back into it and went down 7-1 in the end.
