In Pictures: Abbeyleix students showcase their art in the Dunamaise Arts Centre

Abbeyleix FEC students are currently having their art showcased in the Dunamaise Arts Centre

A variety of disciplines including ceramics, textiles, drawing, print and painting done by the QQI level 5 and level 6 students are being showcased.

The exhibition was opened by Leslie Keogh, a curator who has worked in the Natural History Museum in Dublin, and now works with the Heritage House in Abbeyleix.

Themes explored

These works explore the concepts of memory, identity, gender, landscape, loss and Repeal.

This is an exciting blend of contemporary art from emerging artists working and living locally.
