Hundreds of homes throughout Laois have been left without electricity after last night’s thunder and lightning.

Homes in Ratheniska, Portarlington, Portlaoise, Rosenallis, Ballyfin, Mountmellick and Clonaslee are all without electricity this morning.

Back at 8.30pm tonight

While electricity has been restored to many of these homes, on ESB.ie the estimated restore time is 8.30pm tonight while they work on the known fault.
