Draws made for O’Byrne Cup and Walsh Cup competitions

Leinster GAA have announced details for the first inter-county competition of 2019.

The draws were made for the O’Byrne Cup and Walsh Cup at a meeting last night.

John Sugrue’s Laois footballers are in Group 3 alongside Meath and Wexford.

The top team here will advance to the semi final where All-Ireland champions Dublin have received a bye to get to already.

Meanwhile, Eddie Brennan’s first competitive games in charge of the Laois hurlers will be tasty.

They have been placed in a group with Dublin, Carlow and Offaly.

The top team here will advance to the semi final where Galway, Kilkenny and Wexford will be waiting.

The competition normally gets underway straight after Christmas or at the start of the new year.
