Outstanding Laois baker nominated for Irish Business Woman of the Year

Kelly Ging, of the very popular Kelly Lou Cakes, has been shortlisted for the Image Business Woman of the Year Awards.

She joins many other high-profile ladies in the Young Businesswoman of the Year category, such as Aimee Connolly of Aimee Connolly Cosmetics Ltd and Ailbhe Garrihy, General Manager at Dublin Bay Cruises.

Kelly Lou Cakes, her popular Portlaoise-based business has been operating since she opened her first cafe in Kealew six years ago. They have since expanded and opened a second cafe at Parkside in late 2017.

Kelly is no stranger to accolades as she won the top spot regionally in Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur Awards in 2016, as well as qualifying as a Nationalist finalist the same year.

Kelly has a very active social media presence, where she shares baking tips and tricks to almost 8,000 Instagram followers, and keeps us updated on what delight is on sale in the bakery from day to day.

She took to both Twitter and Instagram to share the news of her nomination.
