Moment in Time: Halloween Howls in 2008

Nowhere puts on a festival like us here in Laois, and one of our first is proof of that.

Halloween Howls celebrated ten years upstairs in Kavanagh’s in 2016, but unfortunately was cancelled in 2017.

The popular Portlaoise pub was awarded Innovative Pub of the Year at 2018 Irish Pub Awards regional finals.

And it will now go forward to the final of the National Pub Awards at the RDS Concert Hall on Wednesday November 21.

Their stage has seen some top acts over the years such as Bernard O’Shea, David McSavage, David O’Doherty and Alison Spittle.

The four day festival always drew a fantastic crowd with sell out shows, and we hope to see it come back some time soon.

Check out all the craic from the 2008 event.

Alf Harvey was there to capture it all.
