London taxi driver launches appeal to reunite Laois couple with lost glasses

A London taxi driver is trying to do a brilliant thing – reunite a Laois couple with their lost glasses.

Damien McGee, whose mother is from Drumlish in Longford and dad is from Tyrone, contacted LaoisToday and asked us to help him find the owners.

Damien told us that the pair travelled from the O’Moore County to London last weekend and went to see Andrea Bocelli in concert.

Damien said: “I am looking for a lovely mature couple who travelled from Laois to London last weekend.

“They stayed in London and went to see Andrea Bocelli at London’s 02.

“They arrived on the Friday morning and went home on Sunday. They stayed in the London Marriott Hotel on Canary Wharf.

“When I realised they had left them in my Iconic London black Taxi, I went back to the hotel but I could not track them down.

“The man had just undergone a successful hip replacement and to celebrate, his son had bought the pair of them the tickets to see Andrea Bocelli.

“Can the power of your readers reunited these glasses with there rightful owner? If so please get them to call or text me on 0044-7956-575-844.”

We really hope so.
