In Pictures: Mountrath primary school get into the Christmas spirit

If you were in Mountrath on Wednesday last you might think you saw a little army of Christmas jumpers going through the town.

Indeed, both pupils and teachers in St Fintan’s Boys NS, Mountrath, were spreading the festive spirit in the town this week.

The school partook in a Christmas jumper walk on Wednesday and incorporated their Active Schools initiative in the festivities.

Pupils and teachers went through the town to Centra, crossed over at the library and headed to the park.

Each classroom had to display an exercise that the whole school had to do in a big circle at the park and played a game of tag in the park.

They then walked back up through the church yard, up to the secondary school and back down to school, singing Christmas songs as they went along.

Of course, there are a whole range of festive activities taking place in Laois this weekend, which can be found here.

Many thanks to third and fourth class teacher Ms Avril O’Sullivan for sending in these pictures.
